Zero white blood cells and more platelets
On August 3, 2015 by Michelle LoveThe Ara-C from the last 2 weeks has done exactly what they expected it to do. Lab work from this morning showed that BJ’s white blood cell count is zero. For the next 3 weeks or so, we’ll be hypersensitive in checking for fevers and making sure he doesn’t get sick. He has no working Read More

Deja vu
On July 31, 2015 by Michelle LoveBack at LCH for the same regimen as last week. He’s currently getting his 2nd 3-hour dose. Thankfully, BJ wasn’t as nauseated as last week, but he has already developed the Ara-C rash again. Hopefully this chemo will make a difference in his MRD. The week-long daily chemo (cytoxan and etoposide) he had a month Read More
Sleep my baby, sleep.
On July 31, 2015 by Michelle LoveJust sitting here watching him sleep. Listening to him breathe. I think he may be dreaming, and I wonder if he’s running to catch a football or making that 3 pointer, or reeling in that 20 pound flounder… just having a normal summer like any other 14 year old kid, carefree and happy….Sleep my baby Read More
He doesn’t realize how tough he is
On July 28, 2015 by Michelle LoveBJ had a rough weekend. Every few hours, day and night, he needed eye drops, Zofran or Atarax. He finally felt like eating something Sunday afternoon, but that was curbed by nausea. This morning, he still felt very weak, and standing for short period of time was exhausting for him. At the clinic today, he Read More

Bone Marrow Aspiration
On July 20, 2015 by Michelle LoveBJ is in the recovery room after having a bone marrow aspiration just a while ago. We are praying for the results of this biopsy to show that the presence of leukemia cells has decreased much lower than the 11% that were there last time. More prayers are so much appreciated…. #CureForBJRound2 #keeppounding #giveblood #BeTheMatch #NEGU#IamLCH #childhoodleukemia #childhoodcancer #morethan4 #mollyskids#BJStrong Read More
Weekend by the shore
On July 19, 2015 by Michelle LoveWe took a short weekend trip to the beach. BJ’s counts were high enough for him to be able to go, and enjoy spending the weekend by the shore. His allergic reaction to the medication started getting better, although he was still itching all weekend. Thanks to a prescription for Atarax, it was tolerable. Today, Read More
