Bone Marrow Aspiration
On July 20, 2015 by Michelle LoveBJ is in the recovery room after having a bone marrow aspiration just a while ago. We are praying for the results of this biopsy to show that the presence of leukemia cells has decreased much lower than the 11% that were there last time. More prayers are so much appreciated…. #CureForBJRound2 #keeppounding #giveblood #BeTheMatch #NEGU#IamLCH #childhoodleukemia #childhoodcancer #morethan4 #mollyskids#BJStrong Read More
Weekend by the shore
On July 19, 2015 by Michelle LoveWe took a short weekend trip to the beach. BJ’s counts were high enough for him to be able to go, and enjoy spending the weekend by the shore. His allergic reaction to the medication started getting better, although he was still itching all weekend. Thanks to a prescription for Atarax, it was tolerable. Today, Read More
A little bit of JOY
On July 17, 2015 by Michelle LoveIt just seems like BJ can’t catch a break. His face started itching some in the hospital, but by Tuesday, his face, neck and shoulders were covered in a bad rash. 50mg of benadryl didn’t do anything but knock the edge of the itching, but it came right back. The only thing new was the seizure Read More
He caught the big one, just like he promised he would!
On July 15, 2015 by Michelle LoveIt’s been a very, very hard two weeks for BJ. While he was getting blood on Wednesday the 8th, he started experiencing slurred speech and weakness on his right side. The medical team flocked to him and the consensus was that this was not a reaction to the blood, but rather most likely due to Read More

On July 15, 2015 by Michelle LovePlease pray for BJ! Three years ago, at the beginning of his 6th grade year, BJ entered my classroom one morning looking pale. I asked if he felt ok, and he said yes. The next day he looked even more pale, and had bruises on his arms. I asked again if he felt ok, and Read More
Methotrexate Toxicity
On July 9, 2015 by Michelle LoveAfter being admitted yesterday, BJ had an EEG showing no seizure activity. They came and got us at 2am this morning for his MRI, which showed the methotrexate toxicity that they had expected. By this morning, he woke up feeling much better than yesterday, and the weakness had resolved. His headache is gone, and I think Read More

He’s been getting fluids this morning and when his lab work came back, all of his blood counts had dropped considerably since Monday’s visit. His hemoglobin was low which Read More

Headache for days
On July 8, 2015 by Michelle LoveFinally tonight, BJ seems to be feeling just a little better. He has been struggling with a massive headache that started a week ago after his last spinal tap. Anytime he stands up, he grabs his head and winces. He spent most of the weekend in bed, or on the couch, and his appetite has Read More
Spinal headache
On July 3, 2015 by Michelle LoveLast day of these all day, all week chemo infusions! We are back on LCH 11 for the day, and were happy that one of our favorite nurses has BJ today. BJ is struggling with a spinal tap headache, and just isn’t feeling very good. He’s not really complaining about anything, but he grabs his Read More
