Day 1 of Blinatumomab treatment – Wednesday, January 20, 2016
On January 20, 2016 by Michelle LoveWednesday, January 20, 2016……62 days in the hospital…..Day 1 of Blinatumomab treatment
Today is a big day. BJ was moved to the PICU room this morning. The new immunotherapy, blinatumomab, started about 11am. They will monitor him closely for the next few days for any side effects. The infusion is continuous and is running through his PICC line.
Prayer warriors… Please keep up those prayers!! Thank you!!!

UPDATE…
The Blinatumomab has been infusing for 7 hours now. BJ’s vitals have been completely stable. He feels fine. This PICU experience here at LCH is so much better than our earlier experience in the PICU at Duke. We hooked up his Playstation in this room, and he’s been playing games, and we have watched a movie on Netflix. He also took a nap earlier, and we watched the snow fall.
We’re praying that BJ continues to have no side effects from this treatment, and that it just destroys every single leukemia cell!
