Wednesday, January 13, 2016…55 days in the hospital

Your prayers are really working. BJ has dramatically improved since last week. He isn’t on oxygen. His breath sounds are improved in both lungs. His heart rate is more normal for him. His respiratory rate is normal. They actually took him completely off the monitors. He is eating well. He is off of the IV antibiotics that were to cover his infected gallbladder. No one is talking about gallbladder removal anymore. He doesn’t have any pain in that area. He has had no more nausea. His liver levels are completely normal. His kidney function is normal. The color in his face is so much better than last week. He is holding on to his 5k platelets. He is also holding onto his red blood cells, and hasn’t needed a blood transfusion in at least a week. The neuropathy in his feet is significantly better. He is walking more each day. In fact, the physical therapist today told him that ‘on paper’, he shouldn’t be up and walking like he is.

With the start of the chemo on Monday, his white blood cell count is now down to 1.9k, and the percent blast is also down to 75%. This needs to continue to drop. There should be absolutely zero blast cells showing up in his peripheral blood.

BJ had a huge lift in spirits today when Sadie stopped by. She kissed him non-stop…such a sweet girl.

We are taking this one day at a time, and are so very thankful to God for his continued healing. Please continue to pray for all the leukemia cells to disappear everywhere they hide inside BJ’s body…and in Jesus’ name, destroy them all.
