Friday, January 8, 2016….50 days in the hospital

BJ had a good day. He got up and used a walker (with assistance) to get to the scale and back to his bed. It was about 16 feet total. He’s eating much better. There’s a Panera bread in the main hospital and he ate a whole bowl of broccoli cheese soup today. He ate a pancake this morning, drank 2 cartons of milk and later also ate a pack of crackers.

He had a visit from Paisley, the therapy dog. She’s so sweet. She laid down with him and took a nap.

Labs were about the same as yesterday, but his platelet count was 5k. They decided to hold giving him a transfusion so that maybe his body would start making some or that it would stop chewing up the donor platelets.
