BJ ended up having a pretty good night last night. His nausea resolved and additional Morphine was helping with the pain in his side. It was a quiet day for him at the hospital today. He was nauseated some and still having pain in his right side. He and Darrell watched some movies while Carly and I attended the bone marrow drive in honor of BJ that was organized by Wesley Thornburg today from 10am-12pm. She pulled it together in a week, and had an awesome turnout! Wesley was given 35 packets for cheek swab collection and registration. Those were gone in less than an hour! What an incredible show of support from our community!! We are thrilled that the registry will soon have an additional 75 potential donors! If you didn’t get a chance to come today, are between the ages of 18-44, join the Be The Match bone marrow registry today!
Thank you so much to Wesley, Gina, Trilby, and all the other friends who came out to help staff the drive. Thank you to Denver Fire Department for letting us set up shop in your facility! Even saw some firefighters signing up! Thank you to all who commit to saving a life by joining the bone marrow registry!
