Navy SEALs make dream come true for 14-year-old battling leukemia for second time…by: EVELYN PITT-STOLLER, AOL.COM

It takes several people years to figure out what they want to do with their lives — sometimes, people never discover their true calling. B.J. Correll is not one of those people.

After completing a project on the Navy SEALs in middle school, he knew where his path would lead. Tragically, Correll was diagnosed with leukemia in 2012 and then in 2015, with just seven months left of treatment, he found out that his cancer returned. His dreams of becoming a SEAL seemed to be getting further and further away as he had to buckle down and focus on getting better. That was until this weekend, when he was made an honorary SEAL.

After hearing that the 14-year-old with dreams of becoming a SEAL was battling cancer for the second time, a group of retired SEALs paid Correll a surprise visit at his North Carolina hospital.

As if the presence of Correll’s heroes weren’t enough of a blessing, the SEALs decided to fulfill his dreams right then and there.

“You are now a Navy SEAL,” said Stephen Brown, a SEAL Swim Charities member.

The SEALs gave Correll a flag and a plaque as a part of his official induction, and spoke highly of the brave young man.

“He shows the character of what a SEAL would be like. He’s very strong. He has gone through so much. So much pain, not just physically but mentally. And he stayed so strong through it.”STEPHEN BROWN

“It took my breath away,” said Correll’s mother. “He’s having a hard time right now. We are on our last option and it was just amazing for him to already have what he’s wanted to do for his life.”
