Elijah
On November 13, 2015 by Michelle LoveOn Wednesday, BJ had clinic visit for a lab check. We were hoping for a white count that was not high. I knew it wasn’t good news, when the NP handed me his lab paperwork, and gave me the “I’m so sorry look”.
BJ saw it too, and I’m sure that his heart sank as well. Instead of a small rise, his white blood cell count was 11.7k, a significant jump from Tuesday’s count of 2000.
The blast count was now 88%, meaning out of 11,700, about 10,300 were leukemia cells.
That was a very hard and stressful day.
BJ was already really effected by the news of (a little boy near our hometown) Elijah’s death, and then was hit with the very disappointing news of his own labs.
It was just a very tough and emotional day for all of us. He wanted to get a good meal, so we left the clinic that evening, and he, Carly and I went to have dinner at Chili’s.
