Going for blood

I talked to our nurse coordinator late yesterday and the doctor wanted to see BJ today based on his extended severe headache and being so tired. He’s been getting fluids this morning and when his lab work came back, all of his blood counts had dropped considerably since Monday’s visit.

His hemoglobin was low which contributes to the headache and fatigue, so he’s getting 2 units of blood today. He should be feeling better before we get to leave clinic today. It’s amazing how fast blood works….his color changes and he starts feeling better before the 2nd unit has finished infusing.
