July 1…Back from camp and back to clinic…
BJ and Carly had a great time at camp. They both came back with fun stories and new friends. BJ’s camp counselor also had ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) when he was a teenager, so he and BJ connected on a deeper level. Camp CARE was at Camp Lurecrest in Lake Lure. It’s such a beautiful place. BJ also came back with a visible hair line! It’s been so long since he’s had any hair, I have a hard time not staring at him.
Clinic today (7/1) for chemo infusions (vincristine and methotrexate), and an infusion of an antibiotic he gets every 3 weeks. The antibiotic makes him feel really bad the rest of the day. He actually slept all the way home from clinic, and went to bed as soon as we got home. He slept until 8:30pm, got up and ate a little, and went back to bed.
The very last set of Erwinia Asparaginase shots start tomorrow (Tues 7/2). Six sets, 12 shots, and no more Erwinia!
