Interim Maintenance phase is almost over!

BJ was back at the clinic this past Thursday, a day earlier than usual, in the event that he would finally make the count requirements and get the last part of Interim Maintenance started, and he wouldn’t be in the hospital on his birthday. This last treatment had been delayed two weeks because his counts weren’t high enough. So on Thursday 2/28, he finally made it and was admitted to the hospital for 6 hours of pre-hydration and 54 hours of further hospital stay for the last high dose methotrexate. He started off the treatment feeling pretty bad. The nurses missed him joking with them, but by Saturday, he had started to feel better and the fun BJ gradually returned. He was discharged late Saturday night. We were so glad to have a day of the weekend at home.
